OTHER PROJECTS
While our primary focus is completing the playground, our club is also active in other service and fundraising projects.

Short-Redmond Ford Partnership
April 2023
During the month of April, Short-Redmond Ford donated a portion of every car sold to the playground, resulting in a $7,000 donation!

Chapman Hill Wine Tasting
April 2023
The event was held at Chapman Hill Winery – Campbell County’s award winning winery located just inside the gates of Deerfield Resort. The venue is well known for its spectacular views, and offers wines from dry to sweet and red to white.
The event also had great music and great food!

Holiday T-Shirts
March/April 2023
Our holiday t-shirt series kicked off with limited edition shirts for St. Patrick's Day and Easter!

Dancing with the Stars
March 2023
One of our largest projects yet - and for sure our most fun! We sold over 800 tickets and raised nearly $40,000!

Caryville Roadblock
February 2023
To help raise money and awareness for our projects, the Caryville Cares team held a roadblock next to the future location of our playground!

Inclusive Coloring Competition
January 2023
With our new inclusive coloring books, we launched a county-wide coloring competition for 2nd graders. We paired this with age appropriate lessons on kindness for their teachers to use.
The winning class won a pizza party, and their teacher earned a $500 grant!

Inclusive Coloring Book
November/December 2022
If you pick up a coloring book, there's little chance that you see a child represented with a disability. Kids that use a wheelchair, for example, are very rarely represented.

Our team has produced a coloring book featuring kids of diverse backgrounds that will be given to every single 2nd grader in our community for free.

Inclusive Trick-or-Treating
October 2022
Our team participated in local trick-or-treating events, and handed out treats that were inclusive for kids with food allergies or other conditions.

Down Set Dash 5k Run and Walk
October 2022
Led by the Osborn family, the race had two primary focuses: to raise awareness about Down Syndrome and fundraise for a local charity. Dozens of businesses and community leaders stepped up to sponsor the event.

Tim Lovelace Concert
July 2022
We held a benefit concert starring Grammy and Dove nominated artist Tim Lovelace.
Tim entertained hundreds with his musical talents coupled with his crystal clean humor, with all proceeds supporting the playground.

Down Syndrome Awareness T-shirts
May 2022
We partnered with local leader Hollie Johnson Crapsey and her awareness t-shirt project. Proceeds from the sell of the shirt went to support the playground.

Manahouse Murder Mystery
April 2022
This classic "who done it" brought together dozens of amateur detectives to solve a terrible (but fake) murder.
Proceeds from the night went to support the playground.

Fundraising Dinner
March 2022
Our team held our first project - a fundraising dinner. Despite major obstacles (like a historic snowfall) in our way, we had one of the most successful fundraising events in our community's history to benefit the playground.
